Learning to Make Money Online #3 - Stay FocusedWho do you listen to? There are a thousand questions you ask yourself. Do I try that way to make my site rank high in the search engines and gain more traffic, or do I try that other way. What's best for my new business...pay per click to drive traffic to my site or work on optimizing my site for natural "organic" ranking? Do I get as many back links as possible in any niche that will link with me or do I concentrate on linking with other sites that are pertinent to my site's subject matter? One "expert" says one way and another "expert" says stay within my site's topic. The questions go on and it's no wonder those new to marketing online freeze like deer in headlights. You become unable to make a decision, trying to do everything, becoming completely overwhelmed and exhausted That leads to self doubts about their abilities to be a success online and ultimately maybe doubting themselves. The main thought to remember is: Stay Focused! Attempt ONE project at a time having to do with your site until you feel you have control over it. Then move on to the next area you want to master. Be it building your site yourself, finding an expert in the marketing field and making them your mentor and following their advice, or finding a way to drive traffic to your site...Do ONE thing at a time...don't let it overpower you. We never realize it, but we are in complete control over what we do and how we do it. If you feel yourself beginning to drown in information, throw yourself a life preserver - step back...get away from what you are doing...get a breath of fresh air. Don't let it own you. You are in control. Come up with a game plan with clear daily intentions. Make yourself do one thing a day to help your business grow...don't work on a web page for your site, then jump over to creating messages for your autoresponder, then working on your pay per click campaigns and then checking out all those *Free* sites that promise to send traffic to your site by the tens of thousands! See what's happening? Doing alittle too much and completely losing your focus and your intent! The bottom line : your business will suffer. So...devote one day to adding content to your site, another day learning about site optimization, another day to begin optimizing your pages and another day to research ways to drive real traffic to your site. One day - one task. Your business will be that much easier to have control over and the tossing and turning at night over something your forgot to do with your site will go away. Stay focused...you ARE in control. About the author: Ted Denton has become successful in affiliate marketing after wading through the confusing jungles of the 'Net.
